Furling systems for gennaker sails
Furling asymmetric sails (gennakers) using the " Top Down Method®":
With the " Top Down method®", the sail is furled from above around the freely tensioned furling core, with the AT line with "anti-twist sheathing" ensuring even tension. This ensures that large sails can be set and retrieved safely and easily at all times, even with a small crew. When rolled up, the sail can be stowed quickly, safely and space-savingly. The sail head is attached to the special thimble of the swivel, while the sail neck is attached to the tack swivel above the furler via a strop. The curvature of the luff adjusts automatically depending on the cut of the sail and the length of the neck strop.
The GENNEX system is suitable for existing gennakers as long as they are not cut too low and the luff is not significantly longer than the low-torsion line. For a smooth furling process, the low-torsion rope must be under high tension. It is therefore important to select the length of the taux under load so that the halyard does not hit the sheave box of the mast.
Competition or Performance - your choice!
The Competition series consists almost entirely of high-strength, seawater-resistant aluminium and has a black, matt hard anodised coating. Compared to the Performance series, around 30 % of the weight is saved here. The low weight, high load capacity and reliability are particularly appreciated by ambitious regatta sailors.
The Performance series is made entirely of seawater-resistant stainless steel and has a silky matt surface finish. These furling systems are characterised by their particularly high robustness and are highly valued by recreational and cruising sailors due to their durability and strength.
Dual use - Code0 & gennaker furling:
The Code0 furling system can easily be extended to a gennaker furling system by attaching a tack swivel. The swivel can be attached either directly to the furler or via an adapter in the furler fork. The adapter can be used to quickly switch between different sails (Code0 and gennaker). When switching to a Code0, for example, the tack swivel and the tack strap remain on the AT line of the gennaker.
A2 Variants
Gennaker Performance
The jib furler and swivel for gennaker sails are made of high-quality stainless steel and fitted with rustproof, watertight ball bearings. The tack swivel for top-down furling can be mounted directly on the jib furler or attached using an adapter for quick sail changes. Sealing lips protect against water and dust. The wide fork width enables direct attachment of AT lines with thimbles. The patented quick-release pin made of duplex steel remains secure even under maximum load. A high-quality snap shackle ensures quick attachment to the deck. The endless line can be removed without tools. The housing can be swivelled in 12 positions and an optional FurlStop prevents the furler from turning back.
