From the company headquarters in Markdorf on Lake Constance, BARTELS supplies quality "Made in Germany" for yachts from 18 to 100 feet - worldwide.

A history of vision and progress
Founded by H. Bartels, it all began with wooden canoes and dinghy cruisers. For reasons of comfort and safety, he developed the first furling system - a revolutionary invention for sailing boats. Since then, the company has been continued and improved by each generation.

With Sven Bartels, the portfolio expanded to include the railway technology division, and Florian Bartels also brought the company's expertise into the field of professional large-scale textile shading (awnings).

Expertise from Lake Constance to the world
A team of around 40 employees - engineers, technicians and master craftsmen - work on the development and production of furling systems for sailing yachts. State-of-the-art machinery and over 50 years of experience guarantee the highest quality and reliability, even under the toughest conditions such as heavy weather or demanding regattas.

Roots in the Elbe, progress into the world
The passion for the water has deep roots: the Bartels family began as raftsmen on the Elbe and developed from captains of icebreakers to innovators in sailing. This connection to the water still characterises the company today.
